Corsicana Mattress Company Hires CEO, Chris Baker

Earlier this year, Corsicana Mattress (“Corsicana”) hired veteran sleep industry executive Chris Baker as CEO.

Headquartered in Corsicana, Texas, Corsicana is a leading manufacturer of mattresses, foundations and related sleep products. With ten production facilities across the United States, Corsicana serves over 5,000 customers and has been delivering quality and value for over 40 years.

Prior to his new role with Corsicana, Chris served as CEO of Hollander Sleep Products, a private equity-owned supplier of basic bedding products with 9 manufacturing locations. Under Chris’ leadership, the company doubled revenues and tripled profits over a five year period. Prior to that, Chris held various senior positions at home textile suppliers WestPoint Home and Springs Industries.

Additionally, Corsicana added Bob Black to the Board of Directors. Bob is a seasoned operating executive with significant experience in multiple consumer oriented sectors. Bob has an extensive background in digital commerce and will assist the management team with developing an e-commerce strategy. Carroll Moran, former Owner of Corsicana still remains an active member of the board.

UMA Brings on Experienced Management Team, Headed by Industry Veteran, Jim Buch

This summer, UMA Enterprises, Inc. (“UMA”) brought on a new management team led by new CEO, Jim Buch.

UMA is a leading full-service importer and wholesaler of home décor products. Headquartered in Compton, California, UMA is distinguished by its broad product offering, competitive price points and high degree of customer service. UMA serves a diverse customer base including leading e-commerce retailers, specialty retail stores, furniture stores, discount stores, distributors, and non-traditional home décor retailers throughout the United States.

Prior to his new role at UMA, Jim was most recently at Lynx Grills, Inc. (along with several other members of the new management team) which is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of premium outdoor kitchen appliances. During his three year tenure at Lynx, Jim and his team tripled EBITDA and achieved double digit average order size growth. Jim has over 25 years of experience in the “Home” space and a nearly 30 year background of operational experience in private equity owned companies. At UMA he will be focused on value-added differentiation through product, branding, service, and applied technological innovations.
