Long Point Capital (“LPC”), a private equity firm focused on investments in professional services companies, is pleased to announce the successful realization of its investment in MNS Engineers (“MNS”) through the merger of MNS with BKF Engineers (“BKF”), a LPC portfolio company. As part of the transaction, LPC provided liquidity to its investors in MNS while maintaining its continued investment in the combined BKF platform.
The combined company will operate under the BKF brand and represents a leading engineering consulting platform across the Western United States. The merger brings together two highly complementary firms with deep expertise in civil engineering, surveying, planning, and construction management. The combined organization has nearly 800 professionals across more than 20 offices and serves clients across transportation, water, government, and institutional development end markets.
This strategic combination reflects Long Point Capital’s long-term investment approach of partnering with founder- and management-led businesses to build scaled, market-leading platforms. Both BKF and MNS were LPC partner companies prior to the merger, underscoring a deliberate growth strategy focused on expanding capabilities and geographic reach.
The merger was driven by strong alignment between BKF and MNS management around a shared vision to build a stronger, more client-centric business positioned for continued growth.
“BKF and MNS each built exceptional reputations serving clients across California and the Pacific Northwest,” said Ira Starr, Founding Partner at Long Point Capital. “This transaction represents a successful outcome for our MNS investors while also advancing our continued investment in BKF as a scaled, differentiated engineering consulting platform. By bringing these organizations together, we are creating a business with the talent, capabilities, and reach to deliver more comprehensive solutions for clients and pursue larger, more complex opportunities.”
